Theme – Sustainable Development

Eligibility – Classes XI-XII

All the participants would randomly be divided into two sides (The global North and the global South).
Day 1 Proceedings :-
1. Brief about the agenda and the proceedings by the moderator.
2. Introduction of the subtopics
3. Opening Statements (90 sec)
4. Session 1 – Resource Management
5. Session 2 – Climate Change
Day 2 Proceedings :-
1. Session 3 – Trade Relations
2. Session 4 – Technological Revolution
3. Lobbying Time
4. A combined concluding statement made by both the sides proposing solutions to the problem.
Guidelines :-
1. All the participants are required to give an opening statement for a time period of 90 seconds.
2. The subtopics for the sessions following the opening statements will be told to the participants before hand and a brief background guide for the same would be provided for preparation. The background guide is just a base for further research and participant’s research should not be limited to it.
3. 4 speakers would be recognized by the moderator in each session to put forward their stance on the topic at hand in a 2-minute speech.
4. Questioning amongst the participants is not allowed, however one can point out and rebuttal on points made by another speaker in their own speech time.
Judgement Criteria :-
1. Relevance to the given topic and the whole agenda.
2. Validity of the arguments.
3. Facts and figures provided in the speeches.
4. Structure and content of the speech.
